Michael Bavaro is a creative strategist and filmmaker in the Greater Boston area. He returned to his local roots in 2010 after having worked in Los Angeles and New York for 22 years.

Michael has produced and directed two highly acclaimed documentaries about historical Boston icons: Rex Trailer and Filene’s Basement. Both films received local Emmy Award nominations, East Coast film festivals selection, and multiple airings on WGBH/PBS.

Michael worked in Hollywood as a producer and director for Disney, NBC, and other major TV networks and film studios creating award-winning promotional content for movies, television and new media.  In 1994, he was hired by the new media company Bell Atlantic Video as a creative leader in developing the world’s first interactive video-on-demand system over the Internet. He later headed up the promo department of Bell Atlantic’s joint venture, Tele-TV.

In 1998, Michael moved to New York City and set up shop as Digital Freeway®.  He developed new media, websites and web video content for Talk/Miramax, Primedia, Inc., GQ Men of the Year, and Harlem Village Academies.

When he is not producing documentary films, Michael is providing clients with innovative creative development and digital production for a variety of commercials, web videos, animation and artwork. A natural artist and storyteller, Michael is an idea guy and has the ability to capture the essence of a personality or brand and translate it to the screen.

An expert at most Adobe® Creative Cloud apps and a longtime master of Apple® products, he is also a writer, cartoonist, and voice actor.
